STAR MAPS

Note that the "campaign maps" are "node-maps" or 2-1/2 D maps while the other maps are full 3-D maps. 3-D maps are more pretty, but node maps are far more practical for plotting fleet manuvers, planning colonial expanision, locating choke points, and creating economic trade routes.

Map 6 (FTcanonWork4.pdf): This is a "campaign" map of just the canonical empires. Lines are drawn between a star and its closest neighbor. Distances are in parsecs. Dotted lines are links where one empire has direct links to another empire.

Map 5 (FTnoncanonWork5b.pdf): This is a "campaign" map of all the currently assigned empires, canonical and non-canonical. Lines are drawn between a star and its closest neighbor. Distances are in parsecs.

Map 0 (astropolitical.gif): This is the Full Thrust astropolitical map, showing only the canonical empires (i.e., those mentioned in the rulebooks) It is based on Map 2. Note that it says "canonical" at the top.

Map 1b (FTnoncanonLine5.pdf): This is the current Full Thrust astropolitical map, showing all the currently assigned empires, canonical and non-canonical. It is in Adobe Reader *.pdf format.

Map 1a (astropoliticalx.gif): This is the current Full Thrust astropolitical map, showing all the currently assigned empires, canonical and non-canonical. It is in *.gif format. This map will be subject to frequent updates, so be sure to check the "last modified" date at the top. It is based on Map 2. Note that it says "non-canonical" at the top.
For those who's web browsers cannot handle a picture of this size, here is the same map split into quarters: upper left, upper right, lower left, and lower right.

Map 2 (m15.gif): This is a raw map of all the stars within 15 parsecs of the sun. ( "Raw" means "without labels for the various star nations" ) Lines are drawn between each star and its closest neighbor. Stars are colored according to their spectral class. In the case of biniaries, the color used is that of the brightest member. Class M stars are greyed out, as they generally do not possess human habitable planets (though they often have valuable mineral deposits, domed colonies, terraformed planets, and/or asteroid habitats) Note how the plethora of M stars make the map difficult to use. There are also many places where star names and co-ords overlap, the author apologizes, this will be fixed when he has a chance.

Map 3 (m15nom.gif): This is a raw map of all stars within 15 parsecs of the sun, excluding stars of spectral class M. Lines are drawn between each star and its closest neighbor. Stars are colored according to their spectral class. In the case of biniaries, the color used is that of the brightest member.

Map 4 (noM103d.gif): This is a raw map of all stars within 10 parsecs, excluding M stars. It is a set of stereo pairs, viewable in 3-D by using the "cross-eyed" method. This will give a feel as to the arrangement of stars in local space.
