The Mighty Thor King Sized Annual #10, Marvel Comics 1982. Don't dismiss this just because it is a comic book. It has a fairly sophisticated cosmology. Most interesting is the portrayal of the Gods and Goddesses as patterns of magickal energy. When a deity has outgrown its worshippers, the Demogorge arrives and consumes that deity. The Demogorge strips the pattern from the magickal energy, thus freeing that energy to create new gods. There is a brief discussion here
