Fire all weapons! Both the beam and the stream of plasma torpedoes were created with the same technique. Its just that the beam has the torpedoes all run together to make a fuzzy beam. And the beam does not have the "ring" halo effect turned on. Gotta love the internet. No matter what you are trying to do, chances are that somebody has a online tutorial. Between this one and this one I managed to figure out how to do it. |

Just for Captain Bob, the Leif Ericson fires the deadly Tesla cannons. Lightning bolts are a problem. But Captain Bob had his heart set on seeing the Tesla cannons in action. And in any event, I had a project coming up that would need lightning, so I may as well find out how. Once again the internet comes to my rescue. About ten seconds of Googling, and I stumbled over this tutorial. It took a bit of work but the results were impressive. The only fly in the ointment was that the bolts turned out a bit dim. I had to take the image into Adobe Photoshop to brighten them up. |
